Tacking Judge - Willie J. Pope Jr. U.S.A./ SVF Judge
Greetings Sport Fans and Handlers, First of all, I would like to thank the AWMA Association for choosing me as one of the judges for this top breed event, I feel very honored. Also, the Spirit Working Dog Club for also having me. I respect all breeds of dogs and all breed club members of the A.W.D.F. organization. This December you will have the top malinois in the nation competing for top honors, I wish good luck and great success to all entered in this top championship for your breed. In tracking, I require good sportsmanship on and off the field. I will be judging the skill, execution and problem solving of the dog, that shows me a well trained dog for our sport. The skill of handling is secondary, that means no help by the handler.....I want to see the work of the dog. Again, Good Luck!!!...
I will see you all in Florida.
Willie J. Pope Jr. U.S.A./SVF Judge

I originate from and live in Albany, NY. I have been fortunate to perform helper work and train with some of the best trainers in this country. I would like to thank Ivan Balabanov, Debbie Zappia, Gene England, and Jan Kokx for being my mentors and training partners. In addition, I would like to thank Marina Shukh, my training partner the last few years. I also would like to thank the person who started me out in this sport and who let me work dogs for countless hours, Mike Zenobia. Without him, I would have never started on this journey. In summary, I would like to thank Ivan, the Spirit Working Dog Club, and the AWMA organization for giving me the opportunity to work this championship. I'm looking forward to this competition and meeting all the competitors at this championship. Good luck to all showing!

Helper IPO1 and IPO2 - Joe Brockington
I am Joe Brockington, an active member of USA and Central PA Schutzhund Club. Along with helper work, I’m in the process of titling my German Shepherd female, Dusa. I was first introduced to working dogs by Captain Jeff Rynearson of the South Bend Police Department. In the summer of 2007, I purchased Dusa and became a member of a Schutzhund club in Indiana called Great Lakes Working Dog Association. I studied under Ronnie Weiss, who I learned a great deal from. During that time I wanted to embark upon helper work but could not due to being a student athlete. Once I graduated from the University of Notre Dame in 2007, where I was a starting linebacker. I returned back to Pennsylvania, where I joined the Central Pa Schutzhund Club. I was taught helper work by Daniel Heldreth, who is the training director of our club. We have since been spending countless hours training and preparing for the day that I would work a national trial. I’d like to thank Marc Patton, Mike Diehl, Jim Hill and Lisa Jacquin for trusting me with their dogs in my pursuit to perfect my helper work. I would also like to thank Ivan for giving me this great opportunity. I will be working the VPG1s and VPG2s at the trial.
Good luck to all the competitors and I’m looking forward to seeing you on the field.
